Dynamic Design within a Student-Driven Learning Environment

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Technology-based classrooms are challenged to keep pace with constantly evolving technology. It is imperative that students learn how to adapt to these changes throughout their careers. By guiding students to independently research new technology and share their knowledge with their peers, students take ownership of their learning environment.

West Career and Technical Academy's Digital Media Program creates a student-driven environment to facilitate project-based learning. Students will discuss and present some of the innovative projects and ideas that have come to fruition in this setting. These projects include a motion capture system for animation, building an advanced computer tower for rendering within highly-intensive programs, 3D printing, and constructing a website for the Digital Media Program. A question and answer period discussing the perspectives of both student and teacher in the organization and management of this type of learning environment will be the focus of this session.
